Overview
This is a free knit polo shirt pattern for children. It is placed on the fold before cutting to make a one-piece pattern. It includes a slit for a polo shirt type placket for use with buttons or other fasteners.
This pattern has a relaxed fit with added ease by default.
If the hips are wider than the chest, the pattern will flare out from the waist to the hip line.
The pattern is hip length but can be made longer by using the Add length to bodice variable.
The shoulder width and neckline are adjusted for the addition of a 1.5”/38mm finished width knit collar band.
The placket slit is 3.5”/89mm long and requires a placket pattern for finishing.
There is a 1/4"/6mm seam allowance by default. Change to 1/2"/13mm or greater, if you are using a serger. The bodice includes a 1”/25.4mm hem by default.
This garment includes the following patterns:
- #191 Knit Polo Front Child
- #192 Knit Back Child
- #185 One-Piece Placket
- #197 Collar Band
