Overview
The bishop sleeve's defining characteristic is the fullness added to the back of the sleeve only. These sleeves were included in the robes of ancient priests and in modern religious vestments. They are frequently used for costumes, choirs and some vintage gowns.
This free bishop sleeve pattern is based on the standard sleeve sloper. The default Spread Value is 4.5" / 114mm, which is applied at one slash at the back of the arm.
The pattern includes a cut line for a slash and the addition of a button cuff. You can also apply an elastic cuff with all the fullness in the back of the cuff.
